It can be a huge challenge to get through the day sometimes, and different people deal with their anxiety in different ways.

How to Deal With Anxiety at Work

Stay Hydrated

One of the best things you can do for yourself--when you’re anxious and just generally speaking--is to keep yourself well hydrated. This is a hard thing to accomplish for many people who just don’t always feel all that thirsty. The truth of the matter is that your body needs to be hydrated to function at its best.

Do whatever you need to do to stay hydrated. Set a reminder, leave yourself a sticky note, or simply purchase a water bottle and keep it topped off. You’d be surprised how much of a difference this one small change change can make.

Eat Right

Right along the same lines is eating food that is nutritious. Your body just doesn’t function as well on a number of different levels if it’s filled with fast food burgers and ramen noodles. Sure, you can eat those things from time to time, but do your best to eat a balanced diet.

Stay away from a lot of sugar or carbohydrates and instead eat plenty of protein (lean meats, nuts, and the like), and mix in a moderate amount of fruits and vegetables with a modest amount of dairy and grains. This is a recipe for success.

Get Some Fresh Air

If you’re at work and your anxiety is getting to you, make it a point to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. You don’t have to do anything other than head out the door and focus on your breathing. Not only is this relaxing, but it can sometimes give you a much-needed break from your work.

Make it a point to enjoy the weather on display on that particular day and take note of the breeze, the sunlight, or even the chill in the air.
